Polish mountains features not only picturesque touristic routes leading through valleys and peaks, but also mountain rivers excursions. Dunajec River Gorge rafting becomes more and more popular each year, attracting tourists from around the world.

Traditionally, since 200 years, people use wooden boats to swim the Dunajec river. These are special boats made of 5 spruce logs.

Rafting is always held under the guidance of so-called “flisacy” – local highlanders from Pieniny region. They will take care of your safety during the whole cruise and will be your personal guides. You’ll hear the story of Pieniny National Park and many mysterious local legends.

Dunajec River Gorge rafting offers beautiful landscapes including a view of the highest peak of Pieniny – impressive Three Crowns. So called “Janosik Jump” spot is an obligatory stop during the journey. It’s connected with the most famous highlander in history, called Janosik. An old legend says, that he jumped over Dunajec river running away from hungarian enemy.

The journey usually lasts from 2 to 3 hours, depending on your preferences. There are usually three different routes to choose:

* Niedzica – Szczawnica 20 km
* Szczawnica – Wietrznice 20 km
* Wietrznice – Stary Sącz 24 km

However, you can also go on Dunajec journey using different ways of transport. Besides traditional boat, you can choose a raft. Each participant gets a helmet, special vest, a paddle and follows guidelines of an instructor. Another option is a canoe, available in two versions – for experienced voyagers as well as for beginners. Canoes require more effort at paddling but also will provide much more adrenaline!

After the journey, we can organise a barbecue at the bosom of nature or a pleasant dinner in a restaurant.
